Son of Frank A. and Clara M. Gadbury.

Enlisted June 1, 1905; re-enlisted March 28, 1917 at Cedar Rapids, IA.

Entered Camp Larrahee; transferred to Camp Dodge and Camp Mills. First entered Co. D, 1st Iowa Inf.

Mustered out April 2, 1919 from Co. D, 168th Inf.

In France Nov 1, 1917; member of Co. D, 168th Inf., Rainbow Div. (42nd). In the battles of Lorraine, Champagne, hateau Theirry, St. Mihiel and Argonne.

Rainbow div. mentioned two times for bravery. Gassed at Lorraine.

Sergeant.
