Commissioned Second Lieutenant, Cavalry, Aug 15, 1917 at Fort Snelling. Member F Co., 349th Inf., 88th Div., 1st Caisson Co., 313th Amm. Tr., S. Co., 163rd Depot Brigade.

Reported for training as pilot in School of Aeronautics March 2, 1917; flying at Kelly Field; Commanding Officer, Sq. H, per S.O., 23rd Hq., at Kelly Field Jan 23, 1919. Post Field, Fort Sill for Corps dÕArmee Pilot course Feb 3, 1919.
