My Great Grandmother

I'm trying to find out what happened to my great grandmother, Mary R. (Bates) Ormsby after she appears on the 1885 IA census. She married in Story Co., IA in 1870 and had 8 children between 1870 and 1880. The four I know about are: Lemuel, B:1876, Wealthy B: ?, Snelda (my G.M.) B: 1879, and Debbie B: 1880. I believe all were born in Nevada, Story Co., IA
Mary died when my G.M. was a young girl and my G.M. was raised by the Stemler family in IA. On 3 Apr. 1886 Robert L. Ormsby (G.G.F.) had a real estate transfer to Robert Bryant.
Lemuel's obit. Lived in KS since 1886.
Robert and/or Mary are not on 1895 census.
1900 KS census. Robert is a widower.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Paul
