OLSEN/OLSON, Peter/Peder/Per

OLSON, OLSEN

I'm trying to determine if Peder OLSEN, dob 10-6-1832 is the same as Per/Peder/Peter/ OLSON, same dob. According to one source, Per OLSON, who died 2-12-1897, is buried in the Story City Cemetery with his 2nd wife, Aletta who died 3-28-1933 and Aletta's 2nd husband, Lars who died 2-9-1933.

I have a photo of a tombstone from an unknown location and unknown source different than that mentioned in the preceeding paragraph that is engraved with the name Peder OLSEN, dob 10-6-1832, dod 2-12-1897.

I have many unanswered questions regarding this family line but for now, I'd be pleased to find out if Per/Peder/Peter OLSON/OLSEN are the same; if the tombstone described above is in the Story City Cemetery and which is the correct spelling of the last name or was it changed somewhere along the line. If necessary,I can send a copy of the photo of the tombstone described above to whomever can compare it to the real thing.
