I located two obituaries for you -- Blanche (Cheville) Shearer and Alice Lorine (Shearer) Thornton.

February 3, 1902 --- May 3, 1975

Tuesday services for Mrs. Shearer
Mrs. Blanche Ellen Shearer, 73, Colo, died May 3 at Story County Hospital. Services are Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Brouhard Funeral Home, Zearing, with the Rev. Charlie Lehman officiating. Burial is in the Evergreen Cemetery, Collins. Mrs. Shearer was born Feb. 3, 1902 in Zearing. She and Alvis LeRoy Shearer were married March 1, 1921 in Nevada. Surviving are a daughter, Alice Lorine of Colo; a grandchild; four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Nichols of Lakeside, Calif., Mrs. Clara Lane of Nevada, Mrs. Dorothy Wood of Macon, Mo. and Mabel Ringler, Waterloo and two brothers, Harley Cheville, 1316 South Duff Ave. and Kenneth Cheville, Des Moines. She was preceded in death by a sister and a son.

Alice L. (Shearer) Thornton
February 7, 1926 - January 23, 1998

COLO – Alice L. Thornton, 71, of Colo, died Friday, Jan. 23 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines of respiratory failure. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Chet Ryan Mortuary with the Rev. Dennis Reynolds of the Nevada Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Colo Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada. She was born on Feb. 7, 1926 in Colo to Alvis LeRoy and Blanche (Cheville) Shearer. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Colo, graduating from Colo High School. She married Dale Thornton on March 18, 1961 in Fort Worth, Texas.
