ONE OF AMES' OLDEST SETTLERS PASSES AWAY

Mrs. Alvina Arrasmith died last evening at seven-thirty o"clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lucy Cox on Fifth Street. She had been in poor health for a long time, gradually weaker until the end came. Mrs. Arrasmith had been a resident of Ames only ten years, making her home the past two years with Mrs. Cox, but is one of the old settlers of Story County, having been a resident since 1852.

Mrs. Arrasmith was nearly seventy-seven years of age and left ten children-Mrs. Lucy Cox, Ames, James A. Ames, Mrs. L. O. Hanson, living four miles north of town, Mrs. Swearingen, nine miles north, Mrs. Bert Baumgardner, McCallsburg, George of Zearing, F. M. Arrasmith of Larrabie, C. B. Arrasmith, Amboy, Minnesota, Mrs. G. Ohmart, Guthrie, Oklahoma and Aden Arrawmith eight miles north of Ames.

The funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at two o:clock at the Christain Church, It is hoped to have Rev. John Houser of Bloomfield present to conduct the services.
