Rachel Antrim, was born in Clinton county, Ohio, Nov 7th, 1816, was married to Adam L. Grove, Jan 9th, 1834, moved to Clay county, Indiana, in the fall of 1842, remaining there until the Spring of 1854, when they removed to Story County, where deceased resided up to the time of her death, which occurred at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday last, her husband having preceded her to the great beyond, in 1869. While residing in Ohio six children were born to them, three in Indiana and one in Iowa, six of whom survive the mother. There were in the family forty-two grandchildren. Deceased was a member of the U.B. church having united with that church when sixty years of age, she, with her son Jasper resided on the farm, until 1877, when they moved to Ames. As will be coserved by dates given above, Mrs. Grove was an old resident of Story county. She was a highly respected lady, and leaves scores of friends, who extend their sympathy to the bereaved members of the family. The funeral will occur at U.B. church this afternoon, conducted by Rev. N. F. Hicks.
