THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, November 8, 2005.

Everett Erickson, 68, formerly of Ellsworth, died Saturday, Nov. 5, at his home at Silvercrest Ames Assisted Living in Ames. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell.

Everett Millard Erickson was born Sunday, Sept. 19, 1937, on the family farm near Stanhope to Elmer (Bill) Millard and Hyla Ione (Henningson) Erickson. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell. He grew up in Ellsworth, graduating from Ellsworth High School in 1956. He married Rosa Lee Coy Feb. 22, 1957, at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell. They resided in Ellsworth where he worked at the Ellsworth Co-op. He retired in 1994. He was member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth, the Jaycees, the Ellsworth Volunteer Fire Department and the Jewell Golf and Country Club. He loved coming to work early in the morning, making coffee for the farmers who stopped by and sharing stories and jokes. He enjoyed golfing.

He is survived by his wife, Rosa Lee Erickson of Ames; one son, Eric Erickson of Webster City; one daughter, Marlene (Bryan) Thompson of Slater; five grandchildren Carol Erickson, Jason Erickson, Kaylita Watt, Zachery Thompson and Austin Thompson; two great-grandchildren, Ethan Balderas and Serenity Russell; and one sister, Idella (Russell) Richardson of Ames.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 tonight. at Becker Funeral Home in Jewell. A memorial fund has been established, gifts may be sent in care of his daughter, Marlene Thompson, P. O. Box 26, Slater, IA 50244.
