Mrs. Rose Spratt, Native Story County Woman, Is Dead

Mrs. Rose Spratt, native daughter of Story county and sister of Hattie D. Fowler of Nevada, died Tuesday afternoon after a lingering illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. J. Norman, at Winner, S. D. where she and her daughter, Bertha, had made their home for the past two years.

Funeral rites will be held at the Presbyterian church in Marshalltown Friday afternoon at 2:30 after which the body will be brought to Colo for interment.

Mrs. Spratt, whose maiden name was Rose Brouhard, was born at Colo, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barnett Brouhard, and there she spent her girlhood days. Shortly after her marriage she moved to Marshalltown and there she had lived since, with the exception of one year spent at Walnut and the last two years in South Dakota.

She leaves two daughters Mrs. W. J. Norman of Winner, S. D. and Miss Bertha Spratt with whom she had always made her home; a son, Roy H. Spratt of Sioux City, two grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Hattie D. Fowler of Nevada; three half brothers, W. C. Brouhard of Colo and Earl Brouhard of Nevada and a half sister Mrs. Pearl White of Colo.

The body accompanied by the daughter Mrs. Norman is expected to arrive in Marshalltown Thursday night and will be taken to the Wagoner Funeral home pending the funeral services.
