Funeral Service Held Saturday for Accident Victim

Colo, May 20--Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon for Virgil Glenn Myers at the Calvary Evangelical church at Colo. The services were in charge of Rev. E. C. Boom. Music was furnished by a mixed quartette composed of Mrs. C. W. Yeager, Miss Zola Carver, LaVern Horner, Charles Lehman. They were accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Merle Dickinson. Pallbearers included James Fitzgerald, Herbert Jones, Morgan Bales, Avon Hall, Sylvester Peakin and Dalis Miller. The many beautiful flowers were cared for by Mrs. Charles Yeager and Miss Zola Carver. Interment was in the Colo cemetery by the side of his parents.Virgil Glenn Myers, son of the late Jasper and Francis Myers, was born at Colo on Sept. 5, 1912 and departed from this life at Nevada May 16, 1940, at the age of 28 years, 8 months and 11 days. Virgil spent his childhood days upon a farm in the vicinity of Colo. At eleven years of age death deprived him of his mother's care. However, he continued living at home until the death of his father in January, 1933, when he went to Ackley, where he was employed upon a farm for two years. He also spent some time with relatives at Pontiac, Mich., returning to Nevada which has since been his home.
In April 1935, he was united in marriage to Miss Aileen Oyler and to this union were born four children, one daughter, Ramona, and three sons, Virgil, Garry and Larry, who with his brothers and two sisters are left to mourn his passing. His brothers are Will and Earl Myers of Gillette Grove, Clint and Roy of Colo, Jake of Nevada, Lawrence of Mason City and Ray and Doyle Myers and sisters Mrs. Myrtle Huff, and Mrs. Ethel Caves of Pontiac, Mich. His parents, one sister Estella and brother Hubert Ellis, preceded him in death.
