Funeral Services Held Here Sunday for Mrs. C. A. Bond

Funeral services for Mrs. C. A. Bond, 65, who died very suddenly at her home at Anoka, Minn. on Thursday morning, May 2, were held from the Morfoot Funeral home here Sunday afternoon with Dr. J. O. Simon in charge. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery. Eastern Star services had been held at Anoka, Minn. Saturday afternoon before the funeral party left with the body for Nevada.

Mrs. Bond, well known to many Nevada people during her residence in Milford township, died very suddenly and news of her death reached her daughter Mrs. B. A. Fetterhoff of West Lincoln ay as a great shock.

She was born Clara Penny, daughter of Katherine and Newton Penny, August 22, 1874, at Ackley, being 65 years and 8 months of age at the time of her death.

She was united in marriage to Charles A. Bond, July 3, 1895, at Hampton.

To this union five children were born, one son having died in infancy. The family moved to Nevada in 1900 and resided on a farm in Milford township until 1918 when the family moved to Benson, Minn. where they lived until 1937 when they moved to Anoka, Minn. where they have resided since that time.

Mrs. Bond leaves to mourn her, the husband Charles A. Bond, four children, Cleo Bond of Ames, Hattie Bond Fetterhoff, Nevada, Frank Bond of Benson, Minn., and Margaret Bond Foster of Minneapolis, Minn., five granddaughters, Dolores, Phyllis and Lavon Bond. Betty Jeanne and Bonnie Lou Foster, one brother, James E. Penny of Ackley, two sisters, Elizabeth Penny at Ackley, and Nette Penny Hoffman of Boyd, Minn.

Mrs. Bond has been a member of the Eastern Star for many years and was a member of the Women's Relief Corps. She attended Joyce Chapel at Anoka. She lived an exemplary life, being a wonderful wife and mother, a good neighbor who gathered a vast number of friends, young and old, who enjoyed associating with the Christian woman, and feel it has been a privilege to know her.
