MONS NEREIM DIED AT SUNSET HOME

Pioneer Resident of Howard Township Passed Away on Wednesday at High Age.

Mons H. Nereim, 83, for over half a century a resident of northern Story county, died at the Old People's Home here at 3:30 a. m. yesterday.

The funeral services will be held at Salem church in Roland with Rev. Olaf Holen in charge and burial will be in the Roland cemetery possibly on Saturday afternoon altho the time is yet undetermined.

Mr. Nereim, a native of Norway, Europe, came to America as a young man and located first at Morris, Ill., where he was united in marriage to Miss Aase Weeks [aka Wicks], who died about 6 years ago. They came to this county about fifty years ago, locating in Roland. He had been at the Story City Old People's Home for about two years.

Surviving children are Mrs. J. J. Hill and Mrs. Clara Cole of Roland, I. M. Nerem of Rivers, Minn., Mrs. Nels Millang of Roland, Mrs. Gust Hanson of Mankato, Minn., Mrs. Peter Millang of Randall, Mrs. Art Lura of Marshalltown and Guy Nerem of Story City. One daughter, Mrs. Henry Durby, died at about the same time as the wife and mother. He also leaves 37 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.
