Obituary of Mrs. C. M. Abrahamson

Mrs. Hannah Abrahamson, (nee Anderson), was born near Veile, Denmark, on June 22, 1867. At the age of six years she came to America with her parents, settling near Story City. She was married at Jewell on May 10, 1889, to Christian Miller Abrahamson [sic]. To this union were born three children, one of whom preceded the parents in death, dying in France during the World war.

The Abrahamson family moved about a great deal, living for longer or shorter periods at the following places: Mackey, Stanhope, Jewell, and Story City, two periods; on a farm three years; in Texas one period of five years and barring one other year spent in Texas, they resided in Story City since 1915 until the death of Mr. Abrahamson, which occurred on Jan. 1, 1935.

Since that time she has been residing with her children, dying in the home of her daughter Margaret near Story City on May 23, 1935, at the age of 67 years, 11 months and one day.

It was during the ministry of Rev. Orth that she with her husband united on confession of faith with Grace church in 1926. She remained a faithful member of this church until she received her summons to the church all glorious above.

She leaves to mourn her loss her two children, Mrs. Orin Dickinson and Andrew Abrahamson, both of Story City, six grandchildren, and three brothers, all of whom are present at the funeral: John Anderson of Houston, Texas, Martin Anderson of Nye, Wis., and Dave Anderson of Williams. Three sister and one brother preceded her in death.

Mrs. Abrahamson was a remarkable woman of Christian character and will be missed from the community and especially from the circles of Grace church, where she was a woman of good works and faithful Christian service.
