OBITUARY OF MRS. SIVERT ALSAGER
Borghile Eike was born in Eike, Norway, Jan. 10th, 1908. She came to America in company with her brother, Hartvick, in the spring of 1928, and came direct to Ellsworth where she visited with an aunt and friends and worked at different places. She came to Story City about 4 years ago, working at Sevold's Cafe for about two years as cook.
She entered the hold bonds of matrimony with Sivert Alsager June 16, 1931. To this union one son, Charles LeRoy, was born Dec. 10th, 1932.
Mrs. Alsager had been in failing health for some time, and at last an operation was found necessary. This was of a serious nature and it was soon evident that she could not survive long, and she died at the local hospital Monday night, Aug. 7.
Her untimely death is mourned by her husband and little babe, besides her father and mother, Berger and Inger Eike, and four sisters and four brothers, all living in Norway. Her only near relatives in this country are two aunts, Mrs. Ed Swenson of Radcliffe and Mrs. Gudmund Hall of Roland.
Funeral services were held last Thursday with Rev. Heimarck officiating and interment was made in the Fairview cemetery. The pallbearers were Chris Lekness, John Ose, Hans Grotnes, Ole Roth, Clifford Sevold and Harvey Skeie. The tributes of flowers were very beautiful.
During her residence in Story City Mrs. Alsager made many friends. She was of a lovable disposition, a dutiful wife and a good Christian. Her departure for the better land, while her gain, leaves a sad void in the home, is an irreparable loss to the husband and son, and causes grief to a large circle friends.
