Obituary
Mrs. Bertha Fraland was born in Braasten, Stavanger, Norway, May 20, 1851, and died in Story City Feb. 20, 1932, lacking a little of 81 years of age. She had been in failing health for some time and during the past few weeks had been bedfast.
She was the daughter of Soren and Kjersten Braasten. She was married to Ingebrit Fraland in Norway and came to this country in 1885, the year after her husband had immigrated. During all these years she and her husband have made their home in Story City. By her quiet and kindly life she had won a large place in the hearts of those who had come to know her and who now grieve her departure.
Her husband, who is 92 years old, survives her, as do two daughters, Mrs. Neil Johnson of Sioux Rapids and Mrs. Inga Harris of this place, and one son Sigvald of Storm Lake, and a step-son, Lewis of Chicago. One grandson, Kenneth Johnson, also survives her. All the children, except Lewis, were present at her bedside before she died and at the funeral.
