FUNERAL SERVICES OF O. R. OLSON OF SLATER
Funeral services for Ole R. Olson were held at the home and 2 o'clock at Bethlehem church at Slater. The services were in charge of his pastor, Rev. E. R. Rorem, who spoke in the English language. He as assisted by Rev. P. Buland, who spoke in the Norwegian language. Beautiful floral offerings covered the casket. Mrs. M. S. Heggen sang a Norwegian solo and a mixed quartet sang several selections. The pall bearers were Arthur and Herman Hovick of Roland, Lewis Mathre, Halvor Knutson and Andrew Mikelson of Story City and Thomas Tjernagel of Radcliffe. Burial was made in the Palestine cemetery.
Ole R. Olson was born in old Lisbon settlement in Illinois July 22, 1852, and died at died at Slater March 12, 1932, at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 20 days. When 10 years old he accompanied his parents to Randall, where they lived for a number of years. He was married Dec. 24, 1875, to Miss Laura Olson at the Palestine church.
They lived three years at Milan, Minn. and 17 years at Jamestown, N. D., but have since made their home at Slater. He is survived by his wife, one son, Tilden, a half-sister, Miss Carrie Olson of Nevada, and a brother in Norway, besides numerous relatives and friends.

Handeland, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Tjernagel, Mr. and Mrs. Junice Tjernagel of Radcliffe; Dr. Erick Christian of Jewell; Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Hanson and Raymond, Mr. and Mrs. Andreas Mickelson of Randall; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hovick and children and Herman Hovick of Roland; Mrs. Mary Hovick, Lillie Ogle, Mrs. H. Rhoades, Mrs. Al Vinding, Mrs. R. Dau, Mrs. W. H. Heath, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Smith, Mrs. C. D. Bryson, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Charles, all of Des Moines, and Mrs. H. Hendrickson of Ames.
