OBITUARY
MRS. GUST HANSONJohanna Roe was born in Roe, Kvinhered, Norway, Feb. 25, 1856, and departed this life in Story City, February 15, 1932, having reached the age of 75 years, 11 months and 20 days.
She came with her parents to America at the age of 6 years and they settled in Clinton county.
She was united in marriage to Gust Hanson at Clinton on Dec. 6, 1876 and started farming there. They later moved to Story county on their farm west of Story City. In 1902 they moved to Story City where the husband and father passed away in 1926.
Ten children were born to this union, two having preceded the mother, a daughter dying in infancy and the son, Hans, passing away July 2, 1929. The children left to mourn the loss of a very kind and loving mother are Ole, Mrs. Albert Johnson, Martin, Augustine, Albert, Cornelius, Clarence and Sam. There are also 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren left to mourn her death. Mrs. Hanson also leaves, one brother, Ole O. Roe of Des Moines, 3 sisters, Miss Anna Roe and Mrs. O. M. Olson of this place and Mrs. Albert Hines of Elkton, Minn.
Mrs. Hanson has been a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran church from which the funeral services were held Feb. 18, and she was laid to rest beside her loved ones in Fairview cemetery.
She will be greatly missed in her home in which her interests were very great and where friends were always welcome.
Six of the sons were pall bearers.
The grand children will place a permanent article in the church as a remembrance of their grandmother. Seven dollars was given by the Ole Hanson family to the mission and same amount was given to the Jewish mission in memory of Mrs. Hanson by all the neighbors.

Jacobson and Mrs. Peter Orning of Ames; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sinn, Mr. and Mrs. George Askelson, Mrs. Andrew Holmes, Mr. and Mrs. Edd Elston, Mrs. Pete Hanson, Mrs. H. C. Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Gibson, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Brown, Mr. and Mrs. James Gibson, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Gibson, Mrs. Reuben Benn of Gilbert; Mrs. Henry Thompson, Christine Twedt, Mr. and Mrs. Severt Sjurson and Agnes of Roland and Mr. and Mrs. N. H. Johnson and Norman of McCallsburg.
