Obituary of Glendora Holm
Glendora Beatrice, daughter of Christine and Wm. Holm, was born on a farm six miles southwest of Story City May 3, 1921, and died Aug. 2, 1930, of internal injuries received from a fall off a windmill tower, at the same place, being at the time of death, nine years, two months and 29 days old.
She is survived by her father, a sister Mildred, and two brothers, Willard and Harold, besides a number of relatives and host of friends, the mother having died five years ago.
Brief services were held at 1 p.m. at the home and 2 p.m. at the St. Petri church Aug. 5, 1930, conducted by Rev. Scarvie. The Junior Choir, assisted by Mrs. Lester Henderson had charge of the singing. The pall bearers were little friends of Glendora, namely, Agnes Baldus, Dorothy Hanson, Mary Uthe, Ros Nelson, Mildred Larson and Theodora Charlson. She was laid to rest by the side of her mother in Fairview cemetery.
Glendora was a child of a happy and cheerful disposition, always ready to do a favor or kindness for those she loved and those who loved her. Her life radiated that spirit of a good playmate and little neighbor, which created friendship with all whom she met. She will not only be missed in her home, but also by her schoolmates and teacher.
