OSCAR CODY DIES IN HOSPITAL SUN. A.M.

Oscar E. Cody, 54, resident of Ames and the Ontario vicinity for 38 years, died Sunday at 5 a.m. in Mary Greeley hospital, following a five months illness. His death was due to a cancer. He spent 10 days at the university hospital in Iowa City, returning to spend a couple weeks with his daughter, Mrs. Adolph Seestrom of Ames. He had been in Mary Greeley hospital for the past five weeks.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Adams chapel. The Rev. Jack Finegan, pastor of the Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in the Ames Cemetery.

Mr. Cody was born May 10, 1880, in Beaumont, Kan. He came to Story county from Illinois 38 years ago, and was married here in 1904 to Rosie Warren. His wife died in 1918. He was a farmer at Ontario until coming to Ames to live about 6 years ago.

Surviving besides his daughter are one son, Howard living north of Ontario; two brothers, Tony Cody, custodian of the Ames city hall, and Frank Cody of Dexter, and one half-sister, Mrs. Mamie Dennis of Waterloo.
