OBITUARY

Mrs. Katie Nelson-Gillie

Mrs. Katie Nelson-Gillie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Nelson, was born on the old homestead, five miles west of Story City, Feb. 12, 1887, and died at the Story City sanitarium on July 26, 1918 being thus 31 years, 5 months and 12 days old.

She was married to James Gillie in 1911 at Marshalltown, from whence they moved to Detroit, Mich., where they lived three years. Four years ago they moved back to Iowa, living on a farm eight miles west of Story City. Here she took sick about six weeks before her death. Everything that loving hands could do was done for her, but to no avail.

Besides her sorrowing husband she leaves to mourn her early departure four small children--Donald, aged 6 years; Edwin, aged 4 1/2 years; Robert, 3 years, and Helen, 1 year old--her father and mother, two sisters and three brothers--Mrs. Mary Peterson of Story City, Mrs. Sena Jensen of Marshalltown, and Chris., Peter and Walter, all of Story City.
