OBITUARY
ABRAHAM OLSON DONHOWE*
Abraham Olson Donhowe, was born June 1st, 1818, in Donhowe, Kvindherred, Norway. He was married to Martha Olson in 1843. They came to Clinton county, Iowa, in 1860, where they lived until 1886, when they moved to Martin county, Minn. There they lived until 1901, when they came to Story county, Iowa, and made their home with their daughters. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. O. Jacobson, three miles north of Gilbert. He had always been a very strong man and had never been confined to his bed before his last illness, which lasted for three weeks.
Abraham Olson leaves a wife and seven children to mourn his departure. Two of his children have gone before him, and those surviving are Abe, Ole and Christ of Ormsby, Minn., and Mesdames Ludvigson, Anderson, Thompson and Jacobson of Story City. There were five generations living at the same time; 9 children (of which two deceased), 77 grand children (24 deceased), 52 great grand children (2 deceased), 2 great great grand children.
SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Abraham and his wife, Martha, are buried in the South St. Petri Cemetery in Gilbert, Story County, Iowa as Abraham Olson and Martha Olson.
