DEATH OF HENRY AMLUND
Henry Amlund died at the home of his mother, Mrs. Katherine Amlund, last Thursday evening, after a long illness from tuberculosis of the spine. For several weeks he had been slowly sinking and death found him ready to exchange time for eternity, to cast off the mortal body and take on immortality.
The funeral services were held in the St. Petri church Monday afternoon, Rev. Halvorson preaching the sermon from the text: 'Yet a little while and ye shall not see me." The pastor made a touching appeal to the youths of the congregation to seek God and remain faithful until the end, as after all the time of probation and trial is but "a little while" as compared to the everlasting hereafter.
Henry Amlund was born in Story City May 31, 1885, being thus a little short of twenty-seven years old at the time of his death. He leaves a wife, two children, mother and several brothers and sisters to mourn his early departure, a loss in which the community as a whole very much sympathizes.
