THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Saturday, October 22, 2005.

Richard White "Ade" Lounsberry, 78, of Roland, passed away Thursday, Oct.20, at Perry Lutheran Home in Perry. Funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 24, at 1:30 p.m. at Campus Baptist Church in Ames. Burial will follow at the Roland Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City.

Ade was born March 7, 1927, to John and Anna Mary (White) Lounsberry in Colo. He graduated Colo High School in 1944. Ade was a veteran of the United States Navy. Ade and Dolores Leach were married Aug. 15, 1948 in Des Moines. They moved to Roland in 1955 where he farmed and was a Pioneer Seed dealer for 17 years. Ade was a member of the Roland American Legion and the Roland Kiwanis. He served on the Roland Park Board, the RADC, and the Roland School Board. He was a member of Campus Baptist Church in Ames where he served as a trustee, a deacon, and also taught Sunday school. In his spare time, Ade loved fishing, community activities and volunteering.

Ade is survived by his wife Dolores of Roland; one son, David (Jeannette) Lounsberry of Lee's Summit, Mo.; two daughters, Ruth (Mark) Randleman of Carlisle and Becki (Tom) Thompson of Leland; two sisters, Mary Ann Rymer of Eugene, Ore., and Annabelle Sykes of Park Forest, Ill.; three brothers, Ray Lounsberry of Nevada, Vernon Lounsberry of Dallas Center and John Lounsberry of Cedar Falls; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Ade was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Irene Artherholt and Gladys Baker; and three brothers, Harold ("Woody"), Clare and Max.

Memorials may be made to Campus Baptist Church in Ames or the Roland Library Foundation.
