COLLINS - Robert "Bob" Kriegel, 78, of Collins, died October 17, 2005 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Bob was born January 23, 1927 in Marshalltown, Iowa the son of Fred and Jenny (Flint) Kriegel. He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1944 and then served in the Army during World War II. He was united in marriage to Nelda Elliott May 26, 1950 in Collins, Iowa. Bob had worked at Maytag in Newton and retired in 1989. He was a member of the American Legion Freland-Carver Post # 81 of Collins, and the State Center Country Club. Bob enjoyed golfing, fishing and bowling.
He is survived by his wife, Nelda, of Collins; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Guy Charles Kriegel of Collins, Gilbert and Carol Hennick of Collins; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a brother: Fritz Kriegel of Billings, North Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 brothers: Donald, in infancy, Melvin and Jerry.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. Visitation with the family will be 6:30-8:00 pm Wednesday at the Bacon Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Collins Evergreen Cemetery.
The Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell is in charge of arrangements.
