OBITUARY
Peter A. Hermanson
On Tuesday, July 25th at 12:30 o'clock at his home one mile south of Story City, occurred the death of Peter A. Hermanson. The passing of Mr. Hermanson was not unexpected as he had been ailing for the past three years. His daughter, Mrs. O. P. Espe, of Bode has been caring for him during that time.
During the last week he was confined to his bed.
Peter A. Hermanson was born in Sonvod, Denmark, March 13, 1833. After finishing the common school he attended high school.
He was first united in marriage to Maren Peterson. There were three children born to this union: Andrew M. Hermanson, Mrs. Anna Frandson and Mrs. O. P. Espe.
In 1861 his wife died. He was again married while there to Bodel Peterson, and to this union, seven children were born, four of whom are living, namely, Theodore, Nels and Walter Hermanson and Mrs. L. J. Townswick.
In 187 [sic] he brought his family to this country and resided at Story City on a farm one mile south of town. His second wife died 18 years ago. He later built up a home near his farm where he lived at the time of his death.
The funeral services were held from his house at 1 o'clock, Thursday afternoon followed by services at the Immanuel church, Rev. Heimarck officiating.
The burial was in the Story City cemetery. He leaves to mourn him seven children: Andrew M. Hermanson of Ruthven, Mrs. Anna Frandson of Story City, Mrs. O. P. Espe of Bode, Theodore Hermanson of Story City and Mrs. L. J. Townswick of Roland, who were all able to attend the funeral.
He also leaves fifty-two grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren to mourn his death.
