MARY JOHNSON DIED AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Passed Away Sunday Noon at the Local Sanitarium

Mary Johnson died at noon on Sunday, July 30, at the sanitarium, after an illness of nearly nine weeks. She took suddenly sick a day or two after Decoration day, and was taken at once to the sanitarium. After a couple weeks she seemed to be getting better, but suffered a relapse just when prospects of her recovery were the brightest.

Funeral services were held in the Grace church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Solum preaching in English and Rev. Guttebo in Norwegian.

The deceased was born in Denmark, Sept. 5, 1858, and came to this country with her parents and the rest of the family in 1870, settling on the farm south of Story City, where she had resided ever since, up to the time of her last illness. She had been bothered some with heart trouble, with which she died.

Her father and mother and one brother preceded her to the better land. The surviving brothers are George P., and N. M. P. Johnson of this place, and John P. and Andrew P. Johnson of Kalispell, Mont. All but Andrew were present at the time of her death and funeral.
