DEATH AND BURIAL OF MRS. HENDRICKSON

Mrs. O. G. Hendrickson, whose parents were Jacob and Olina Brattestoe, was born at Roland, Iowa, August 30, 1864, and died at Story City, Iowa, January 10, 1929. She would have been 65 years in August this year.

She spent her childhood and girlhood days at Roland, where she was a member of the Bergen congregation.

February 28, 1883, she was married to O. G. Hendrickson in Adams county, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Jessie Doolittle of Story City and Gaylord Hendrickson.

The family lived 12 years in Adams county. In 1895 they moved to Hamilton county, Iowa, where they bought a farm four miles northeast of Randall, and 17 years ago they moved to Story City, where they have lived until the present time.

Mrs. Hendrickson was not well the last few years, but no one thought that her end was so near. A few days before her death she was taken down with double pneumonia which proved to be more than her weakened condition could withstand.

To her family and pastor she testified that she was ready to leave if it was God's will, as she was confident that she rested on the true foundation, Jesus Christ.

Mrs. Hendrickson was a good wife, mother and neighbor. She was interested in the Lord's work and was an active member of Bethel church, to which the family belonged.

In her memory the Bethel ladies aid, instead of flowers, gave $5.00 to mission.

Her parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters have preceded her in death. Those who life to mourn her departure are her husband, 2 children, 6 grandchildren and 3 sister, Mrs. L. T. Larson, Shelby county, Iowa; Mrs. Olina Larson, Roland, Iowa; and Mrs. Ben Sevde, Story City, Iowa.

The 13th of January Mrs. Hendrickson was buried from the Bethel church, Story City, where her pastor, G. O. Paulsrud, officiated. Miss Anna Erickson sang an appropriate solo and the choir of the Bethel church sang two numbers.

The text chosen by the pastor was taken from Isaiah 28:16 "Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation; he that believeth shall not make haste." This text was in harmony with the confession of Mrs. Hendrickson shortly before she passed away, when she said: "Den grund hvorpaa jeg bygger er Kristus og hans dod." ("The ground upon which I build is Christ and his death.")

The church was filled with friends and relatives who had come to pay the last tribute to this beloved wife, mother and friends.

The following from a distance were present at the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Johnson, Philadelphia, Pa., Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Comnick, Jackson, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Larson, Mrs. Dr. Goodsel, Miss Verna Anderson, all of Des Moines, John Hendrickson and Sam Johnson of Grant, Ia., Mrs. Helen Helland of Hanlantown, Ia., Roy Larson, Mrs. Jim Anderson and Mrs. Paul Klinkefus of Irwin, Iowa.

Nephews of Mrs. Hendrickson acted as pallbearers, namely Reuben, Thomas, Orrin and Lars Larson, Julius Wilson and Henry Johnson.

She was laid to rest in the Story City cemetery until the day of resurrection.

Blessed be her memory.
