PASTOR PAYS TRIBUTE TO BESSY WILLIAMS
The Following Obituary Was Read at the Funeral by Rev. Paulsrud
Miss Bessy Williams was born at Roland, Iowa, October 20, 1873 and died at Story City December 23, 1928. She was, at her death, 55 years old.
When she was two years old she moved with her parents to Clear Lake township, in Hamilton county, where she lived until 15 years ago, when she moved to Story City, where she lived since.
Her parents and two sisters have preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her departure, her brother, Andrew and wife of Hettinger, N. D., and her brother Willie and his wife and two children, north of Rosendale, Iowa.
Miss Williams was of a quiet disposition and of her we must say that she lived a very beautiful Christian life. She was a faithful member of Bethel church where she took great interest in the Sunday school, prayer meeting, ladies aid and other activities of the church. She had a big heart for the furtherance of God's kingdom at home and abroad.
Her departure is indeed a hard-felt loss to us as a church, but as to her it is a gain, because she was ready to enter upon that perfect life above; wherefore we rejoice with her because the battle is over and the crown is won.
As church, pastor and friends we wish to honor her and thank her for the useful life she lived among us. Blessed be her memory.
She was buried from the Bethel church, Story City, Dec. 27, where her pastor, Rev. G. O. Paulsrud, officiated. The friends that filled the church was a proof of the high esteem in which the departed was held.
