L. G. Hill

L. G. Hill was born in Norway Feb. 6, 1851, and died at his home in Story City, May 12, 1919, at the age of 68 years, 3 months.

He came to America in the spring of 1885, and lived one year in Ames, then moved to Collins, where he lived two years. From Collins he moved to Story City, coming here in the fall of 1888, and this had been the home of him and his family ever since.

Four children have preceded him to the better land, and besides his wife there are three sons and an adopted girl to mourn his departure, namely, Ingwald, Severein, Newman and Sophia. Also three brothers and two sisters survive him namely: Hactor Hill of this place, Knut Hill of Roland, Jacob Hill of McCallsburg, Mrs. Sarah Olson of Marshalltown and Mrs. Madla Walker of Olen, Norway.

The funeral services were held in the Immanuel church, Rev. Heimarck officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in the Fairview cemetery.
