Aged Huxley Woman Dead
Mrs. Carrie Rullestad, pioneer Story county resident, passed away of old age at her home in Huxley Monday afternoon at 4:25. She had been ill since last March. Mrs. Rullestad, who was 87 years of age, had been a resident of Story county since 1881.
She was born on Apr. 14, 1860, at Nerstrand, Norway, and came to Story county about 67 years ago. Ever since then she has resided continuously in the Huxley community. On Nov. 14, 1895, she was united in marriage in Palestine township to Gunder Rullestad, who preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1945.
Mrs. Rullestad is survived by two sons, Severt Severtson and Grant Rullestad, both of Huxley; two daughters, Mrs. Elma Overland of Ames and Mrs. Pearl Egelenad of Huxley; a brother, Faltin Kalsem, of Huxley, and a sister, Baletta Kalsem, of Nerstand, Norway.
Funeral services are being conducted today (Thursday) at 2 p. m. in the Adams chapel in Ames with Rev. Joseph Aarhus of the Huxley Lincoln Lutheran church and Rev. Peder Buland of Cambridge officiating.
Interment will be in the Lincoln cemetery.
