Former Polk County Resident Passes Away at Story City

Mrs. Cecelia Holt of Story City passed away at her home Sunday, Marsh 31st, at an age of 79 years. She was born at Holsnoen, Norway, February 4, 1857, and came to America with her parents, Haldor and Anna Barnes, in 1866. The family resided south of Huxley for many years.

Funeral services were held from the St. Petri church at Story City on Wednesday, April 3rd, with her pastor, Rev. Scarvie, in charge.

Though she had been in failing health since earlier in the winter, she was not bedfast till the day before her death.

She is survived by two brothers, George Barnes and Sam Barnes, both of near Alleman, and two sisters, Mrs. Dena Overland of Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. John Sundahl of Deronda, Wis.
