GILBERT PIONEER DEAD

Funeral of Noah Swanson Was Held Today

Special to the Journal.
Gilbert, Oct. 23--Noah Swanson died Monday, October 25th at his home in Gilbert. He was 77 years of age. When about 20 years old he came to Iowa from his home in Stockholm, Sweden. He was married to Lacy Chance* of Redfield, Iowa and to this union 7 children were born. Five of these preceded him in death. He leaves a wife, two sons and 5 grand children, one son, Orville, is at Jefferson, Iowa, and the other is in San Francisco, Calif. Mr. Swanson had lived in Gilbert about 35 years. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock today at the Congregational church. Burial was in the Gilbert cemetery.
