Claude Ringgenberg Rites Held Monday

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Sheldahl Methodist Church for Claude Ringgenberg, 59, who passed away on Friday, Mar. 3.

Pastor Paul E. Harris, who conducted the service, chose his text from John 13:7, "Thou knowest not now but shall know hereafter."

Lester Moore, soloist sang two selections, "After" and "Beyond the Sunset." Mrs. Paul Harris was the organist.

The pallbearers, all members of the Masonic Lodge at Polk City were: Jesse Bryant, Harvey Trumbull and Roy Bryant of Sheldahl, Jerry Niemeier of Ankeny and Ralph Williams and Louis Shearer of Polk City.

Burial was in the Sheldahl Cemetery.

Obituary

Claude Russell Ringgenberg was born May 10, 1902 in Polk County and was a resident of the county all of his life.

On Sept. 24, 1924 he was married to Bertha Irene Butterfield. To this union were born three children: Elnora (Mrs. Dale Christopher) of Sheldahl, Dean Ringgenberg of Manchester, Ia. and Carroll Ringgenberg of Ames.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ringgenberg were his parents and preceded him in death. His wife, Bertha, passed away on Nov. 29, 1954.

Left to mourn his passing are: his three children, three grandchildren, Ronnie and Judy Ringgenberg and Lori Christopher; two brothers, Dale Ringgenberg and Melvin Ringgenberg of Madrid; two sisters, Lela Schonhorst of Bouton and Minnie Stevens of Guthrie Center. One uncle, Lonnie Ringgenberg of Weimer, Tex., also survives.

Claude had been a carpenter for the Iowa State Highway Commission for 18 years until his untimely death on Mar. 3, 1961.

Those who have passed his fine home in Sheldahl have noted that his home was his pride and joy as well as his hobby. The beauty of it will be a memorial to his life.

Mr. Ringgenberg was a member of Masonic Lodge of Polk City and the Sheldahl Methodist Church. He will remembered for his friendliness and mild nature.
