Obituary of Mrs. Louis Roe

Survived by Husband and Five Children.

Jennie Lurinda Roe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Ryerson of near Cambridge, Ia., was born Mar. 11, 1874. She passed away at the Wilden hospital in Des Moines at 3 o'clock, a. m., Mar. 3 at the age of 71 years, 11 months and 22 days.

She grew to womanhood in the community of her birth and attended its public schools. On Nov. 30, 1893 she was united in marriage to Louis Roe. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Cedar Rapids, Ia., where they made their home three years. From there they moved to Adams, Minn., where they resided two years. Moving back to Iowa in 1897, they bought a farm in Washington township, east of Kelley, where they lived most of the time with the exception of a few years when the resided in Ames. On account of poor health they sold their farm and moved to Huxley where they bought home and she spent her remaining days.

Mrs. Roe was reared in a Christian home and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church where she was a faithful member. She was a kind, affectionate mother and her friends were many. She was always interested in her family and friends and ever ready to help them. She is greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband and five children: Clyde and Orrie of Sioux City and Hiram of Houston, Tex.; Isabel Bentley of Ames and Lorraine Amlund of Story City. Also mourning her passing are seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of a family of ten children.
