Funeral Services Held for Arthur Fausch, 81

Funeral services for Arthur J. Fausch, 81, of Alleman were held Monday, Mar. 1 at 2:00 p.m. in the Salem United Church of Christ in Alleman.

Rev. Thomas Laufer and Rev. Henry Hackman were in charge. Lester Moore was the soloist and was accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Lowell Accola.

Pallbearers were Ronald Alleman, James Alleman, Victor Alleman, Kirk Sampson, David Amme and Paul Fausch. Interment was in the Bethlehem Cemetery at Slater.

Mr. Fausch passed away Thursday, Feb. 26 at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. He had been a patient there since suffering a heart attack on Saturday, Feb. 21.

Arthur John Fausch, son of John and Anna Fausch of Alleman was born Dec. 7, 1894. Arthur was the second of seven children and lived all his life in Polk and Story Counties. He attended public schools in Polk County and Hyland Park College in Des Moines. Arthur married Edna Burgren in 1915. They lived on a farm near Slater until her death in 1925. Two daughters, Elvera Artelle and Doris Ruth were born to this union. Elvera died in 1925.

Arthur married Elida Reinertson in 1928. To this union were born three children: Rosemary Ann, Janice Elaine and David Arthur. For most of his life Arthur engaged in farming. In his later years he was employed by The Atomic Energy Commission as a security guard. His second wife, Elida died in 1957.

In 1958, he married Eleanor Hall and they lived in Ames until her death in 1970.

Arthur was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ames.

Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Richard E. (Doris) Alleman of Alleman; Mrs. Robert E. (Rosemary) Sampson of Madrid; Mrs. Robert C. (Janice) Amme of Littleton, Colo. and one son, David, of Sudbury, Mass.; two step-children, Mrs. Arnold (Lois) Skromme of Moline, Ill. and Wayne Martin of Ankeny, Ia.; one brother Albert Fausch of Alleman; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Graeber and Mrs. Leora Alleman of Alleman and Mrs. Violet Zimmerman of Grinnell, Ia.; 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
