NEWS FROM SLATER

Last Rites for Everett Halverson

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 28 for Everett Halverson of Slater at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Rev. John Ness was in charge. Music was provided by Lester Moore who sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Just As I Am." Mrs. Alvin Lund was the organist.

Pallbearers were nephews: Stephen Halverson, Allan Johnson, Dennis Young, David Olson, Keith Westercamp and Ronald Helland.

Interment was made in the Slater Municipal Cemetery.

Obituary

Everett R. Halverson, son of Roy and Nettie Halverson, was born on Nov. 27, 1920 near Kelley. As an infant he was baptized and was confirmed in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church where he was an active member until his sudden death.

On Dec. 23, 1945 he was married to Verna Young and has since lived in the Slater-Huxley community. He passed away March 25, 1973 at home.

Surviving him are his wife, Verna; three sons, Gary, Rodney and Dana; two grandsons, Chad and Brandon; three daughters-in-law, Sue, Janice and Barbara; one broth, M. L. Halverson; four sisters, Mrs. Seerley (Myrtle) Helland, Mrs. Howard (Evelyn) Alleman and Mrs. Orville (Doris) Olson and many other relatives and friends.
