Obituary of Mrs. Andrew Auestad

Della Mae Newman Auestd was born Nov. 20, 1884 in Boone County, a daughter of Peter and Catherine Newman. The family later moved to Slater, where she graduated from high school in 1904 and lived here until the time of her marriage.

She was united in marriage to Andrew Auestad on Mar. 5, 1906 at Slater by Pastor James A. Barnes and lived on the Newman farm, west of Slater, until 1913. thy moved to Kensett, where they lived until moving to Des Moines five years ago.

Mrs. Auestad passed away Oct.8 at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital following an illness of months.

She is survived by her husband, three sons, Donald of Vinton, A. Doyle of Des Moines and Warren of Miami, Fla.; five daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Childers and Marilyn Auestad of Des Moines, Mrs. Irene Stock of Alton, Ill., Mrs. Audrey Thompson of Kensett and Mrs. Nancy Cerfogli of Ankeny; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Soderlund of Madrid and Mrs. G. A. Engstrom of Bozeman, Mont.; two brothers, Orrin Newman of Des Moines and Carroll Newman of Oskaloosa; 17 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Auestad was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two children, who died in infancy.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, Donald of Vinton, A. Doyle of Des Moines
