PIONEER WOMAN IS DEAD

Mrs. Anna Sandvig Passes Away at Home of Daughter, South of Sheldahl

At the home of a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Erickson, of south of Sheldahl at an early hour Friday morning, took place the death of Mrs. Anna Sandvig after a lingering illness. She had been very low of late and death had been anticipated.

The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon. Brief services were held at the Riis funeral home at Slater after which the remains were taken to Story City, her former home, where the last sad rites were held from the Bethel church where she had worshipped during her long residence there. Rev. Buland, who had administered to her spiritual needs during her illness was in charge at Slater as well as at Story City. He was assisted by the pastor of the church, Rev. G. O. Paulsrud. A large crowd was in attendance. Burial was made in the Story City cemetery.

Mrs. Sandvig, who was born in Norway, reached an age of 86 years, 11 months and 13 days. With her family she had lived on a farm near Story City, for many years. Following the death of her husband some years ago she had lived with the children and from some time had been making her home with a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Erickson, of south of Sheldahl.

She is survived by five children, two daughters and three sons. They are Mrs. Oliver Erickson of near Sheldahl, Mrs. Andrew Anderson of Estherville, Ole of Des Moines and Charley and Oscar of Ames.
