SUDDEN DEATH AT KELLEY

Lars Ford Stricken as He Sits Down to Eat Dinner--Funeral Yesterday

KELLEY, IOWA--The community was grieved last Saturday to hear of the sudden death of Lars Ford, who for the past thirty years has resided in our midst the through his wonderful personality, has won for himself the friendship of all those that he has come in contact with, whether it be in work or in social activities.

Mr. Ford had been bothered with heart trouble for the past few months and of late, his condition had appeared to be steadily improving, Saturday forenoon he was up town for the first time in weeks and had occasion to visit with a number of his old friends. Shortly after he returned home, death called and he passed on to eternity with apparently no suffering,

He was born in Forde in Sundhordland, Norway, April 1, 1868, of parents, Anders and Anna Anderson Forde. He came to America with his mother when he was nineteen. He and his mother lived together in this country for three years, until failing health caused her to return to Norway where she died shortly afterwards. His father had died while Lars was in infancy.

He is survived by his beloved wife, four children, Milford, Stanley, Mae and Mrs. Floyd Barr and two grandchildren, Lois Beverly and Robert Barr.

Funeral services were conducted from the Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Rorem in charge. Burial was made in the Bethany cemetery south of Kelley.

Wm. Larson of Wisconsin assisted Rev. Rorem with the services. The choir rendered several numbers, Miss Margaret Fritz sand a solo and a male quartet sang a number. There was a very large attendance.
