THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, September 23, 2005.

Lloyd "Ike" Coughenour, 79, of Colo died Wednesday, Sept. 21, at his residence in Colo. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at the Colo United Methodist Church in Colo Burial will be at Colo Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at the Colo United Methodist Church. The family will be present the whole time.

Lloyd Coughenour was born Dec. 28 , 1925, to Issac and Agnes (Bowers) Coughenour. He graduated from Colo High School in 1944 and attended country school at Dalton School in rural Colo. He was a self-employed painter contractor for 45 years. Coughenour was a member of the Colo United Methodist Church. He was a volunteer fireman for the Colo Fire Department for 10 years. Earlier, Lloyd had been Foreman for PMA Paint Crews grain bins across Iowa.

Lloyd married Jane Dalrymple April 3, 1953, at the Colo United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Jane, of Colo; three daughters, Nancy (Earl) Milleson of Colo, Ellen Coughenour of North Poll, Alaska, Betty (Craig) Mansfield of Maxwell; one son, Steven (Nancy) Coughenour) of Wappapello, Mo.; five grandchildren, Phillip, Patrick, Price, Paul (Jessica) Milleson and Royal Mansfield; two sisters, Hazel Kelderhouse of Marshalltown, and Violet Peterson of Bloomington, Ill.

Memorials should be directed to the Colo First Responders and the Homeward Hospice in Ames and Colo Lions Club.

The Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing is in charge of the arrangements.
