THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, September 20, 1894, page 5, column 3.
“Word has just been received that Mrs. Lucy Landreth, sister of J. R. Cooper, who visited at Maxwell the most of last winter, died at Afton, Iowa, on the 7th inst. Mrs. L. made many friends and acquaintances while here, who will be pained to hear that she has been so soon taken away. She was a kind Christian woman and was very much devoted to her brother John, and gave her whole time and attention caring for him during his sickness. She has gone to receive her reward.”
