Services Held May 16 For Former Resident

Services for Milford L. Hendrickson were held Monday, May 16 at Adams Funeral Home in Ames. The Rev. Carl F. Schattauer, Jr. pastor of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames officiated.

Interment was in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Slater with American Legion Post 260 in charge of military service at graveside.

Mr. Hendrickson was born July 30, 1887 in Sheldahl. His parents were the late Henry O. and Sara Houge Hendrickson. He spent his early life in Sheldahl and Slater until he joined the U. S. Navy in 1906. He was a Chief Petty Officer in charge of baking. In 1914 he was injured during the Mexican uprising and spent the remainder of his life in military hospitals being sent to the hospital in Knoxville when it was built in 1924. There he passed away on May 13.

Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother George and three sisters, Mary Stockdale, Helen Bates and Lulu Harpel. His only survivors are seven nephews and four nieces.
