“MRS. ROSE WHITNEY. – Mrs. Rose Whitney, 77, 517 Stanton Ave., died at the Mary Greeley hospital on Monday, Nov. 20. She had been a patient at the hospital for about a month. Death was due to heart trouble. Mrs. Whitney was born on Nov. 25, 1867 in Cuyuago county, Mich. In 1886 she married E. T. Whitney at Deep River, Iowa, who preceded her in death. The deceased was an active church worker and was a member of the Collegiate Methodist Church. She was also interested in the W. C. T. U. Surviving are one son, Clark Whitney, Ames; a daughter, Mrs. Louise Eichhorn, Malcom, Iowa, a brother, and a sister. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Adams funeral home, with Rev. G. S. Nichols in charge. Burial was made at Deep River.”
