THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, September 7, 2005.

Ina G. Satre, 95, of Story City died Sept. 6, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Bethany Manor Chapel in Story City with family present after 6:30 p.m. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m.

Ina was born Feb. 20, 1910, in Randall to Engebritt and Gurina (Fatland) Grimsley. She married Helmer Satre July 10, 1929. He died July 29, 1974. She lived most of her life in Hamilton or Story counties. She and her husband moved to Ames in 1961 from the farm near Stanhope. She was known for her kringla and baking.
She is survived by one son, John (Bonnie) Satre of Story City; one daughter, Sonja McNunn of Ames; five grandchildren, Ann (Mike) Healy, Sharon (Doug) Mackey, Tom (Cheri) Satre, Tonia McNunn, and Sean (Christine) McNunn; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son, Richard Satre; two brothers, Miller and Lewis; one sister, Elizabeth; and one son-in-law, John McNunn.

Memorials may be made to Bethesda Lutheran Church or Bethany Life Communities.
