Story City Pioneer Woman Is Dead

Story City, Dec. 7--Mrs. Amelia Oswald, age 88, died at her home 5 miles southwest of Story City Monday at 9 p.m. She had been bedfast eight days. Born in Germany, October 14, 1850, she came to this country with her parents at the age of 6 years and has lived 66 years in this community. Surviving are three sons Matt, Joe and William, all of Story City; two sisters, Mrs. Tillie Eggert of Newton and Mrs. Martha Biehl of Monroe. Her Husband died in 1918.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock at the home, followed by services at the Center school house west of Story City. Rev. G. L. Bergeman will officiate. Burial will be in the Center cemetery.
