Funeral Service For Myra Vasey Held In Maxwell
Funeral services for the late Myra Ellen Vasey were held Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 31. Mrs. Vasey died Sunday, Oct. 28 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William R. Webb in Des Moines where she made her home since the death of her husband in 1958. Death was due to a heart attack.
Services
The service was held at the Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell at 2:00 with the Rev. O. J. Rundus of the First Federated Church of Des Moines in charge. Milton Hale and William Cochran sang, "Sometime We'll Understand" and "The Old Rugged Cross" accompanied by Mrs. Madeline Summitt. Mrs. Pritchard and Mrs. John Mullihan took care of the flowers. The casket bearers were: Donald Huntrods, Vernon Huntrods, Roger Huntrods, Roger Huntrods, Otis Huntrods, Paul Heffelfinger and William Huntrods.
Myra Ellen Vasey was born Dec. 17, 1891 daughter of William and Sarah (Huntrods) Vasey* near Collins and died Oct. 28, 1962 at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 28 days. She spent most of her life in the Collins community. In the years 1920, she was united in marriage to Jesse Vasey of Collins. Of this union were born two children.
Mrs. Vasey was a member of the Collins E.U.B. Church. When she moved to Des Moines she transferred her membership to the First Federated Church were she took an active part in the many programs.
Jesse Vasey, her husband, preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1958. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, three brothers, her daughter, and one grandson.
Survivors are her daughter, Mrs. William R. Webb of Des Moines and three grandchildren.
