Clarence Rouzer Funeral Services Held In Maxwell

Funeral services for Clarence W. Rouzer were held Saturday, Sept. 1 at the Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell with the Rev. Harold Smith officiating.

Music was furnished by Alice Gooden and Madeline Summitt. Flowers were cared for by Mary Rittgers and Helen Scott.

Casket bearers were Ross Link, Ray Howell, C. B. Rittgers, Dale Scott, Arnold Scott and Horace Scott.

Interment was in the Maxwell cemetery.

Life Sketch

Clarence Wesley Rouzer, son of Andrew and Louisa Rouzer, was born Aug. 22, 1874 at Ontario, Iowa and died Aug. 30, 1962 at the age of 88 years, one week and one day, in the Story County Hospital.

He grew to manhood in the Ontario and Ames communities. On Dec. 25, 1904 he was united in marriage to Della Lucinda Parr of the Maxwell community. Clarence and Della had no children except one foster son, Orville.

Early in their married life, both Clarence and Della joined the Indian Creek Church of the Brethren.

They lived and farmed in the Maxwell Community until 1949 when they moved to Nevada. Since his wife's death in 1959, he had been in failing health.

Preceding him in death were two brothers, Henry and Ira, and one sister, Sarah who died in infancy. He is survived by one sister, Clara E. Keefe of Ames; one son, Orville; three grandchildren, Gary, Marie and Arnold, all of Maxwell, and a host of nieces and nephews and his many friend and neighbors.
