Funeral Services Are Held Thursday For Mrs. Charles Walker

Effie Strickler Walker was born on Oct. 2, 1885 at Rhodes, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Strickler.

Mrs. Walker died at the Story County Hospital on Monday afternoon, April 24, 1961 at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 21 days.

On March 14, 1907, she was united in marriage to Charles W. Walker at Marshalltown, Iowa. After her marriage she lived in North Dakota for six years and then returned to Iowa. She has been a Story County resident for the past 35 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Nina (Mrs. Herbert Koehler) of Nevada and Virginia (Mrs. Dale Dunahoo) of Maxwell; one son, Charles J. Walker of Cambridge; seven grandsons, Leo Wayne Wilson of Ankeny, Keith Koehler of Ames, Merlin and Gerald Dunahoo of Maxwell, Richard Walker of Cambridge, Robert Walker of Nevada, and Harlan Walker of Des Moines; also fifteen great grandchildren. Other surviving relatives are two brothers, Art Strickler of Rhodes and Emery Strickler of Boone; two sisters, Nina Baker of Marshalltown and Grace White of Rhodes.

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, an infant daughter and a grandson, Vernon Wilson.

She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Nevada, Iowa.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
