Services For Vernon Wilson Held Saturday

Funeral services for Vernon Wesley Wilson, 27, were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Saturday afternoon, June 25, at 2:30 with the Rev. Leonard Franz officiating.

Mrs. Harry Sutherland sang two songs "Beyond the Sunset" and "In the Garden." She was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Leonard Franz.

Casket bearers were Kenneth Barker, Larry Barker, Loren Barker, Jim Edwards, Elwyn Myhre and Gary Rupe.

Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

Obituary

Vernon Wesley Wilson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Wilson, was born on a farm south of Nevada, August 26, 1933.

He spent his childhood in Story county and attended school in Nevada and Shipley.

On May 2, 1952 he was united in marriage to Louise King of Knoxville, Iowa, at Princeton, Mo. Three children were born to this union, Ricky Jo 6 1/2, Steven Owen, 4, and Cheryl Ann, 2 1/2.

This past May, Vernon and his family moved to Washington, Ia. where he met his untimely death on June 22.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Louise, and three children; his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Koehler of Nevada, brothers, Leo Wilson of Ankeny and Keith Koehler, Nevada, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Walker of Nevada and Mrs. Hattie Wilson of Webster City. He also leaves a number of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of friends.

Vernon was preceded in death by his father, Homer Wilson, Jan. 26, 1937.
