Funeral Services Are Held For Lyle E. Luing at Collins

Funeral services were held for Lyle E. Luing at the Collis Christian church Thursday, June 3. Rev. Robert McDonald officiated at the service. Music was furnished by Mrs. Stanley Mitchell and Mrs. Richard Holland. They were accompanied by Mrs. Hugh Fertig at the organ.

Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Harold Hale and Mrs. Marie Morrison. Harold Hale, Allen St--thers and Don Wilson furnished cars.

Casket bearers were Harold Hale, Tom Peters, Wes McWherter, Forrest Lafferty, J. W. Kimberley and E---- -------. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery. Brouhard Funeral Home of Zearing was in charge of arrangements.

Obituary

Lyle E. Luing son of the late William and Mary Pentz Luing was born Aug. 22, 1904 in Collins and has lived his entire life in the Collins community. He died June 28 at the Story County Hospital in Nevada following a lengthy illness. He was 55 years of age.

On Nov. 16, 1923 he was united in marriage to Lota V. Link. Their first years of married life were spent near Collins where he farmed and drove a school bus. For the past 28 years he was engaged in trucking and livestock buying.

Surviving are his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Georgena Stole of Wichita, Kans.; Mrs. Betty Post of Nevada; Mrs. Gerry Hoy of Barstow, Calif., and Virginia of Collins and two sons, Lyle J. of Los Alamedos, Calif. and Norman Lee of Collins.

One sister, Mrs. Elsie Robinson of Ames, four brothers, Fred, Orville and Dwight of Collins and Lowell of Albuquerque, N. M. and 11 grandchildren also survive.

Among people from out of town attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Smith, Mr. and Mrs. James Sager of Colo, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Ball of Eldora, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Davis of New Providence, Mrs. Gertrude Noring, Mrs. Ambrose Cunningham of Ames, Orlando Holtby, Nick Myers, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Link, Jr., Mrs. Rhoda Brown, Fred Link, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Link and Willis Halterman of Maxwell.
